Fomo wallet: how to fund, withdraw and export it

The fomo wallet is the wallet fomo creates for you when you sign up. You never install an extension or write down a seed phrase: you log in with email or Apple ID, fund one cash balance, and trade tokens on six chains from it. Here is how to put money in, which networks accept deposits, how to take money out and how to export your key.

What is the fomo wallet?

fomo's Terms of Service describe the wallet as generated and managed by Privy, a third-party wallet infrastructure provider, and fomo calls it non-custodial. In practice that means three things for a new user:

  • It is created at sign-up. Choosing email or Apple ID is the whole setup. There is no separate wallet to connect.
  • One balance, six chains. The same account trades on Solana, Base, BNB Chain, Ethereum, Monad and Robinhood Chain, which is the core of fomo trading.
  • You stay responsible for access. The terms say you alone must safeguard access to the wallet, so the email or Apple ID you log in with matters.

How the keys are protected, and what that protection does not cover, is explained in detail on our fomo safety page.

How do you add money to a fomo wallet?

fomo's deposit and withdrawal guide lists three ways to fund the account:

  • Apple Pay. Quick on iPhone. fomo's app guide says buying a token directly with Apple Pay works for select tokens only.
  • Debit card. Adds cash to your balance without touching another wallet.
  • USDC from another wallet or exchange. Only USDC, and only on Solana, Base or BNB Chain.

fomo does not publish a fee for Apple Pay or card deposits, so check the amount shown in the app before you confirm. If you have not created an account yet, do the steps in our sign-up guide first, because the fee discount from a referral link can only be attached at sign-up.

Which networks does the fomo wallet support?

You can trade on six chains, but you can only deposit USDC on three of them. Network fees also depend on the chain:

ChainUSDC depositsNetwork feefomo trading fee
SolanaYesPaid by fomo, including priority fees and token rentTiered for small orders, 0.50% from 190 USDC
BaseYesPaid by you, on top of the trading fee0.50%
BNB ChainYesPaid by you, on top of the trading fee0.50%
EthereumNoPaid by you, on top of the trading fee0.50%
MonadNoPaid by you, on top of the trading fee0.50%
Robinhood ChainNoPaid by you, on top of the trading fee0.50%

Selected major tokens cost 0.05% per trade instead. Every tier, with worked examples, is on the fomo fees page. The safest habit before any crypto deposit is to send a small test amount on the right network and wait for it to arrive.

How do you withdraw from the fomo wallet?

From the cash balance on your profile, fomo lets you withdraw in three ways:

  • USDC on-chain to another wallet or exchange. Check the network shown in the app matches the network the receiving address expects.
  • Debit card.
  • Bank account, where available. fomo says bank withdrawals arrive within three business days; the first may need extra verification and larger amounts may be reviewed.

fomo requires Face ID for withdrawals in the mobile app, which is one reason the fomo app is the more convenient place to manage money, while the web version at fomo.family uses the same account.

How long does a fomo withdrawal take?

fomo says bank withdrawals arrive within three business days. Two things can make the first one slower: fomo may ask for extra verification the first time you withdraw to a bank, and larger withdrawals may be reviewed. fomo does not publish a separate timeline for card or USDC withdrawals, so the practical advice is to make a small test withdrawal soon after you start trading, well before you need the money.

Can you export your fomo wallet private key?

Yes. fomo's security article says you can export your private key at any time and use your funds in any compatible wallet, independent of fomo. That is what makes the wallet non-custodial in practice: if you ever want to leave, you are not waiting on anyone's permission.

Two cautions come with it. fomo requires Face ID to export, and its Terms of Service say the key is transmitted to you unencrypted by Privy. Anyone who sees that key can move your funds, so only export on a device you trust and never keep the key in screenshots, notes apps or chats. If someone asks for your key while claiming to be fomo support, it is a scam; our fomo family guide lists the only official addresses.

fomo wallet or your own wallet: which should a beginner use?

A standalone wallet plus a decentralized exchange gives you more control over routing and settings, but it means installing software, backing up a seed phrase, buying gas tokens for each chain and bridging between them. The fomo wallet removes most of those steps: one sign-in, one cash balance, and no gas to manage on Solana. The trade-off is that you rely on fomo's app, Privy's infrastructure and fomo's fee schedule. If you mainly want to try buying tokens, such as your first fomo meme coin trade, without the setup, it is a reasonable starting point; if you were looking for a token called FOMO instead, see what fomo crypto means.

Fomo wallet questions

Do I need my own crypto wallet to use fomo?

No. fomo creates a wallet for you when you sign up with your email address or Apple ID. It is generated and managed by Privy, a third-party wallet infrastructure provider, so there is no extension to install and no seed phrase to write down at sign-up.

Which crypto can I send to my fomo wallet?

Only USDC, and only on Solana, Base or BNB Chain, according to fomo’s deposit guide. Sending another token, or USDC on another network, can mean losing it. You can also fund the account with Apple Pay or a debit card.

Can I move my fomo wallet to another wallet app?

fomo says you can export your private key at any time and use your funds in any compatible wallet, independent of fomo. Export requires Face ID, and fomo’s terms note the key is transmitted to you unencrypted by Privy.

How long do fomo wallet withdrawals take?

fomo says bank withdrawals arrive within three business days. The first withdrawal may need extra verification and larger amounts may be reviewed. Bank withdrawals are not available in every region.

Is the fomo wallet the same as a FOMO token?

No. The fomo wallet is the account wallet inside the fomo trading app. You do not need to hold any fomo token to use it, and tokens named FOMO on price sites are not the app.
