Trading Monad tokens on fomo
Monad tokens can be traded on fomo at 0.50% per trade plus the Monad network fee. Monad is not on fomo's list of networks for USDC deposits, so you fund Monad trades from your existing fomo cash balance, topped up with Apple Pay, a debit card or USDC on a supported network.
What does a Monad trade cost on fomo?
| Order size | fomo fee at 0.50% | With referral (0.45%) | Plus |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40 USDC | 0.20 USDC | 0.18 USDC | Monad network fee |
| 400 USDC | 2.00 USDC | 1.80 USDC | Monad network fee |
| 4,000 USDC | 20.00 USDC | 18.00 USDC | Monad network fee |
fomo's help center groups Monad with every other non-Solana network: network fees are paid by you on top of the 0.50% fomo fee. Some third-party guides say fomo covers Monad gas; fomo's own article does not. See the full fomo fee comparison.
How do you fund a Monad trade if you cannot deposit on Monad?
fomo runs one cash balance across all its chains, so you do not need tokens on Monad to buy a Monad token. Add money to the balance with Apple Pay, a debit card, or USDC sent on Solana, Base or BNB Chain, which are the networks fomo's deposit guide lists. Then open the Monad token in the app and buy from that balance. Do not send USDC or any other token on the Monad network to a fomo deposit address; fomo only accepts USDC on its supported networks.
What is different about trading on a newer chain?
- Shorter price history. Many Monad tokens have existed for weeks or months, so there is little data on how they behave in a downturn.
- Thinner liquidity. A modest sell order can move the price a lot, which matters when you want to exit.
- Name collisions. Tokens copied from other chains may use the same name; check the token page's network in the app.
- Unpublished routing. fomo does not publish which Monad exchanges it routes orders through, so we do not name any.

Monad on fomo compared with Base and BNB Chain
On fees alone, Monad, Base and BNB Chain look identical on fomo: 0.50% plus the network fee. The practical difference is funding and maturity. Base and BNB Chain accept USDC deposits directly and have longer token histories; Monad trades rely on your existing balance and involve younger markets. The fee does not make one chain safer than another.
How do you lower Monad trading costs?
Open your fomo account through a referral link so the 0.50% fee becomes 0.45%, and avoid many small round trips, since each buy and sell pays both the trading fee and a network fee. The discount only attaches at sign-up; see how the fomo referral discount works.

Tokens on any chain can fail. Monad is a newer network, so many tokens on it have short histories and thin liquidity, which raises the odds of sharp moves in both directions.
