Fomo meme coin trading: how to buy memecoins on fomo
A fomo meme coin trade is simply a memecoin bought inside the fomo app, on any of the six chains it supports. fomo is not itself a meme coin, and it is not the same as FOMO tokens on price sites. What makes it popular for memecoins is speed and visibility: you can see what people you follow are buying and act on it from one balance. That is also exactly where the risk is.

How do you buy a meme coin on fomo?
- Fund your cash balance. Use Apple Pay, a debit card or USDC on Solana, Base or BNB Chain. Only send USDC, and only on those networks.
- Find the token. Browse the home screen filters such as trending, verified and most held, search by name, or tap a token from your social feed.
- Check which chain it is on. The same name can exist on several chains, and the fee model changes with the chain.
- Buy a small amount first. Tap buy, enter the amount and confirm. Some tokens can be bought directly with Apple Pay.
- Plan the exit before you need it. Decide in advance at what loss or gain you will sell, because memecoin prices can move faster than you can react.
If you have not created an account yet, do that through a referral link first. The step-by-step version is in our fomo sign-up guide.
What does a meme coin trade on fomo really cost?
Memecoin buys are often small, and small orders are where fomo's fee schedule matters most. Here is what fomo publishes, applied to typical order sizes:
| Order | On Solana | On Base, BNB Chain, Monad or Robinhood Chain | On Ethereum |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 USDC | 0.10 USDC flat, no gas | 0.015 USDC fee plus network fee | 0.015 USDC fee plus Ethereum gas |
| 20 USDC | 0.40 USDC (2%), no gas | 0.10 USDC fee plus network fee | 0.10 USDC fee plus Ethereum gas |
| 100 USDC | 0.95 USDC flat, no gas | 0.50 USDC fee plus network fee | 0.50 USDC fee plus Ethereum gas |
| 500 USDC | 2.50 USDC (0.50%), no gas | 2.50 USDC fee plus network fee | 2.50 USDC fee plus Ethereum gas |
Figures are before the referral discount, which lowers the 0.50% rate to 0.45%. Network fees vary with each chain's activity and fomo does not publish them in advance. Selling costs a fee too, so a round trip pays twice. More detail per chain is on the full fomo fee breakdown.
Which chain should you use for meme coins on fomo?
Usually the one the token actually lives on, because that is where its liquidity is. Beyond that, a few rules of thumb from the fee schedule:
- Solana memecoin trades are attractive for mid-sized and larger orders because fomo covers gas, priority fees and token rent. The 2% tier between 5 and 47.50 USDC makes frequent small buys costly.
- Base memecoins and BNB Chain memecoins keep a flat 0.50% at every size, and both accept USDC deposits, but you pay the network fee.
- Ethereum memecoin trades suit larger positions only; gas can outweigh the trade on a small order.
- Trading on Monad and trading on Robinhood Chain mean newer networks with 0.50% plus network fees and thinner histories, so token risk is higher.
What are the risks of trading meme coins on fomo?
fomo can make buying a memecoin feel as easy as liking a post. The risks do not get smaller because the interface is friendly:
- Tokens can go to zero. Many memecoins lose most of their value within days, and some have no buyers left at all.
- Social signals cut both ways. Seeing a top trader buy can mean you are buying after them, while they sell into the demand. fomo's copy trading is manual for a reason.
- Wrong-network deposits are permanent. fomo only accepts USDC on supported networks; other tokens or networks can be lost.
- Fees compound. Ten small Solana trades in the 2% tier cost far more than one larger trade.
- The wallet does not protect you from bad tokens. Key security is about who controls your funds, not about the quality of what you buy. See what fomo's security does and does not cover.
Is fomo better for meme coins than a trading bot?
It depends on what you value. fomo trades from a single balance across six chains, adds a social feed and leaderboards, signs you up with email or Apple ID, and lets you fund with Apple Pay. Dedicated Telegram bots and trading terminals tend to offer more order automation and fee structures aimed at high-frequency traders. If you are new to memecoins, fomo's simplicity is a real advantage; if you trade dozens of tiny orders a day, run the numbers on the fee tiers first. Our fomo FAQ covers the most common comparisons people ask about.
Fomo meme coin questions
Is fomo a meme coin?
No. fomo is a trading app where you can buy meme coins. Tokens called FOMO on price trackers are separate projects and are not the fomo app.
What is the cheapest chain for meme coins on fomo?
It depends on order size. On Solana fomo pays the gas, but orders between 5 and 47.50 USDC pay a 2% fee. From 190 USDC upwards Solana costs 0.50%, the same as other chains, without a separate network fee. On Base, BNB Chain, Monad, Robinhood Chain and Ethereum you pay 0.50% plus the network fee.
Can I buy meme coins on fomo with Apple Pay?
fomo’s app guide says Apple Pay can be used to buy select tokens directly. For other tokens you first add funds to your cash balance with Apple Pay, a debit card or USDC.
Does copying top traders make meme coins safer?
No. fomo lets you see and copy what other traders buy, but you decide each trade yourself and early buyers can sell into the attention they create. Following someone is not protection against a token collapsing.
How do I pay less on every meme coin trade?
Sign up with a referral link before creating your account. It lowers the 0.50% fomo fee to 0.45% for life. It cannot be added after sign-up.
