Does fomo support trading bots? What the app allows and bans
No. fomo does not document any trading bot, auto-trading feature or public API, and its Terms of Service, updated on 26 October 2026, prohibit using a third-party trading extension, bot or script to access the app or submit transactions unless fomo has expressly authorized it. Breaking that rule can cost you the account. Here is exactly what the terms say, why outside bots are risky with a fomo wallet, and what the app lets you do instead.

Does fomo have a built-in trading bot?
Not one that fomo has published. We searched fomo’s help center for “bot” and got ten articles, on fees, chains, perps and account deletion, and none of them describes automated trading. A search for “api” returns no articles at all. Nothing in the app guide or the feature articles mentions a way to schedule, repeat or trigger trades without you.
That fits how the product is built. The fomo trading app is designed around manual, one-tap trades from a single cash balance across seven chains, with a social layer on top: a feed, a leaderboard and trader profiles. Three related gaps confirm the picture:
- No copy trading. fomo’s help center says plainly that “fomo does not have a copy trading feature”. Following a trader sends you notifications; it does not trade for you. Details are in our guide to how following traders works.
- No limit orders on spot. We found no fomo source describing limit or stop orders for spot or memecoin trades, which we cover in limit orders on fomo.
- No public API. Without one, there is no authorized way for your own code to place trades.
What do fomo’s terms say about trading bots?
The October 2026 terms deal with bots directly, in two places. Section 16, Prohibited Uses, says you may not “use or permit a third-party trading extension, bot, script, or other trading or data-extraction tool to access or interact with the Services, retrieve data, or submit transactions, except through an integration or functionality expressly authorized by Fomo.” Section 4, on account security, explains why and what fomo may do about it. The main rules side by side:
| Rule | What it covers | Where |
|---|---|---|
| No third-party trading tools | Extensions, bots, scripts or data-extraction tools that access the app, pull data or submit transactions, unless fomo authorized the integration | Section 16 |
| No sharing of access credentials | Authentication tokens, session tokens, session cookies, API keys or other credentials given to a third party for those purposes without fomo’s express authorization | Section 16 |
| Your consent is not enough | “These restrictions apply even when credentials are valid and were issued to a genuine user” | Section 16 |
| No automated access or scraping | Bots, crawlers, scrapers and data mining tools, and automated scripts that create accounts, send messages or post content | Section 16 |
| No unauthorized automation for rewards | Listed with wash trading, duplicate accounts and fabricated engagement as conduct that can cancel rewards | Section 8.2(f) |
| fomo does not vet tools | “We undertake no obligation to detect, monitor, approve, or support third-party tools.” | Section 4 |
The third row is the one people miss. Many bots ask you to log in and hand over a session or key, on the theory that it is your account and your choice. The terms reject that reading: “An account holder’s consent does not authorize access or activity prohibited by these Terms.”
What happens if you connect a bot to fomo?
Section 4 says that if fomo determines or suspects your account or credentials are being used through an unapproved tool, it may, “in our sole discretion and without advance notice”, disable or revoke the affected credentials or sessions and restrict, suspend or terminate the account or your access to the app. Section 16 adds warnings, removal of content and termination at fomo’s discretion.
Two other consequences are less obvious:
- Rewards can go. Under Section 8.2(f), fomo may disable monetization, restrict accounts and cancel pending allocations where it finds unauthorized automation. If you earn creator or referral rewards, a bot puts them at risk too.
- Losses stay with you. In the same account security section, users release fomo from damages connected to the security of their account or to third-party services. If a bot drains the wallet, the terms do not make that fomo’s problem.
Because the wallet is non-custodial, fomo’s help center also says confirmed on-chain transactions cannot be reversed and staff cannot recover funds. Our guide to an unauthorized transaction in your fomo wallet covers what support can and cannot do.
Are third-party fomo bots safe?
We cannot vouch for any of them, and we do not link to them. What we can do is set out the risks fomo itself describes. The terms warn that third-party trading extensions and other tools that access your account “may expose your credentials, account information, or transaction data, enable another person to act through your account,” and can “result in account compromise, unauthorized transactions, or complete loss of digital assets.”
fomo’s help center lists the ways funds leave a wallet without the owner’s action, and several of them describe exactly what a bot setup asks for:
- Entering an exported private key into a site, form or app.
- Giving the key to someone else.
- Signing a request on a phishing site.
- A browser extension or bookmarklet running while you are logged in.
A private key gives full control of the wallet and every token in it, and fomo says, “If someone asks you for your private key, it is a scam.” Searching for a fomo bot also turns up unrelated products that share the name, so a tool calling itself a fomo bot may have nothing to do with the app. Before you trust any link, compare it with the addresses on our fomo family official website guide, and read our page on fake sites and fake support.
What can you automate on fomo instead?
Very little, and that is worth knowing before you sign up. These are the only hands-off features fomo documents, none of which places a trade for you except perps exits:
- Trader alerts with a threshold. Following a trader and turning on notifications sends an alert “past a threshold set by you” for their buys and sells.
- Activity notifications. fomo can notify you about tokens and accounts you follow, trending tokens and top traders; you choose which types fire in Settings. The full list is in fomo app notifications.
- A watchlist. Tapping the star on a token page saves it to your Watchlist tab, so you can check it quickly.
- Stop loss and take profit on perps. These close a position automatically at a level you choose, but fomo says perps are not available to US persons. See our fomo perps guide.
For a US user, that means spot and memecoin trades start and end with your own tap. fomo also says there are no price alerts for spot or memecoin holdings, so if you want an exit plan, it has to be one you keep yourself.
Who is fomo a good fit for, without bots?
If you want sniping, scheduled orders or code-driven strategies, fomo is not built for that, and its terms say so. You would be better served by a product that offers automation openly than by bolting a tool onto an app that bans it.
If you want to trade by hand, see what other traders are doing and avoid managing wallets and gas, the absence of bots is not a loss. It does make costs more important, because every trade is one you place deliberately. The standard fee is 0.50% per trade, and small Solana orders between 5 and 47.50 USDC pay 2%, so fewer, larger trades usually cost less in fees; the fomo fee schedule has every tier. The one discount fomo documents is the referral reduction from 0.50% to 0.45%, which can only be attached when you create the account. Our referral code page explains it, and the sign-up guide shows the order of steps. None of this is investment advice, and no tool, automated or manual, makes memecoin trading safe.
Fomo trading bot questions
Is there an official fomo Telegram bot?
We found none. fomo’s help center has no article about a bot, and the official channels listed on fomo.family are Discord, X, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn, plus its blog and answers pages. A Telegram bot using the fomo name is not something fomo documents, so treat it as a third party.
Does fomo have an API for developers?
Not one it publishes. A search of fomo’s help center for “api” returns no articles, and we found no developer page on fomo.family. The terms also bar handing API keys, session tokens or other account credentials to a third party without fomo’s express authorization.
Will fomo warn me before it restricts an account over a bot?
Not necessarily. The terms say that if fomo determines or suspects an unapproved tool is being used, it may act “in our sole discretion and without advance notice”, including revoking sessions and restricting, suspending or terminating the account.
Can I run a browser extension alongside fomo web?
Extensions that trade, read data or submit transactions through fomo fall under the ban on third-party trading extensions unless fomo has authorized them. fomo’s own security advice goes further: it suggests a clean browser profile for fomo with no extensions or bookmarklets at all.
Is it safe to give a bot my exported fomo private key?
fomo says anyone with the key has full control of the wallet and every token in it, that you should never share it or paste it into a website, and that entering an exported key into a site or app is one of the ways wallets get emptied. This is not advice on any specific tool; it is what fomo itself warns.
