Fomo leaderboard: how to read it before you follow

The leaderboard is what makes fomo different from a plain trading app: you can see who is winning, follow them, and get told when they trade. It is also the easiest place to make an expensive mistake, because a name at the top of a 24-hour board may simply have been lucky once.

The fomo leaderboard of top traders

What is the fomo leaderboard?

fomo's app guide describes a Friends and Leaderboard section that ranks the top traders on the app over different timeframes, next to the social feed, search and your own profile. In the context of copy trading, fomo points to leaderboards covering four windows:

TimeframeWhat it really tells you
24 hoursWho caught today's move. Mostly noise, occasionally a signal.
7 daysWho is trading the current market well.
30 daysEnough time for one lucky trade to stop carrying the result.
All timeWho has survived more than one market phase.

fomo has not published how the ranking is calculated, so we will not claim to know whether it is profit, volume or something else. Treat the board as a shortlist to research, not a scoreboard of skill.

How to read a trader profile before following

Tap through from the board and the profile is where the real information is. fomo says profiles show volume, followers, following, portfolio performance and an activity breakdown. Three habits make that useful:

  • Compare timeframes. Someone high on 30-day and all-time boards has repeated it; someone only on the 24-hour board has not yet.
  • Look at the trades, not the total. Twenty small wins and one disastrous hold average out very differently from a steady record.
  • Ask if you could copy that style. A trader flipping tokens hourly needs you at your phone all day, and each of those trades costs you a fee.

Following versus copying

Following someone on fomo does not place trades for you. You get a notification when they buy or sell and you decide, which is why fomo describes copy trading as manual. That distinction matters most on the leaderboard, where the temptation is to treat a rank as a recommendation. The full mechanics, including what fomo does not automate, are in our guide to fomo copy trading.

There is also a timing problem no leaderboard can solve: by the time a trade appears in your feed, the price has already moved. On thin meme coin markets that gap can be the whole profit.

Can you climb the leaderboard yourself?

fomo has not published any entry criteria, and we will not invent a strategy for gaming a formula nobody outside fomo has seen. Two documented points are worth knowing: your profile shows your own volume and performance, and fomo's Terms of Service name manipulating metrics, along with self-referral, as grounds for suspending an account. Trading more to look better on a board is also the most reliable way to pay more in fees, which are set out on the fomo fees page.

Is the leaderboard worth using?

Yes, as a discovery tool. It surfaces tokens and traders faster than any group chat (the Clans view ranks whole groups, see how fomo clans work), and the notifications mean you do not have to watch charts all day. Just keep the order right: use the board to find candidates, use the profile to judge them, use your own sizing rules to act, and remember that every fomo trade costs 0.50% on most chains when you follow someone in. If you have not created an account yet, the sign-up guide covers the steps, and fomo safety covers what the app protects and what it does not.

Fomo leaderboard questions

What is the fomo leaderboard?

It is the ranking of top traders inside the fomo app, shown over different timeframes. fomo’s copy trading guidance points to leaderboards covering 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days and all time, so you can see who performed well recently and who has done it for longer.

How do I get on the fomo leaderboard?

fomo has not published the ranking formula or any entry requirement, so we will not guess at one. What fomo does document is that profiles show volume, followers and activity, and that its terms prohibit manipulating metrics, which can lead to suspension.

Can I copy the traders on the leaderboard?

You can follow them and get a notification when they trade, then decide whether to place the same trade. fomo’s copy trading is manual, not automatic mirroring.

Does a high leaderboard rank mean a trader is good?

Not necessarily. A 24-hour ranking can reward one lucky token, and fomo itself warns that past performance does not guarantee future results. Check the longer timeframes and the trade history before following anyone.

Where is the leaderboard in the fomo app?

fomo’s app guide describes a Friends and Leaderboard section that ranks top traders, alongside the social feed, search and your profile.
