Fomo referral code not applied: what you can still do
You signed up, then realised the referral was never attached, and now there is no box anywhere in the app to add it. That is not a bug. fomo applies referral codes only on the signup screen. There is still one route left, and it is worth ten minutes because the discount lasts for the life of the account.
Why the app has no field to add a code
fomo's help center is explicit: a referral code is applied on the signup screen, and there is no field in the app to enter one afterwards. This catches people who install from the App Store first and discover the discount later, which is the most common way to lose it. Nothing about your account is broken; the attachment simply happens once, at creation.
What the discount is worth: the standard 0.50% trading fee becomes 0.45%, on every eligible trade, permanently. The full comparison is on our fomo referral code page.
The one route that still works: ask support
fomo's own instructions for a referral that was not recorded are to contact support from inside the app:
- Open your Profile.
- Go to Settings.
- Open Help and Support.
- Tap Contact Support at the bottom.
- Ask to be attached to the code or username you intended to use.
Keep the message short and factual: the username or code, roughly when you signed up, and that no referral was recorded. fomo does not publish a response time or a guarantee that every request is granted, so treat it as a request rather than an entitlement.
Can you change a referrer you already have?
Yes, according to fomo, with one limit. A referrer that is already recorded cannot be removed, but it can be changed to a different one if you tell support the username you want it changed to. So an account that was attached to someone else is not stuck forever; an account with no referrer at all is the case that needs the request above.
How to check whether the discount is live

What not to do
- Do not create a second account to refer yourself. fomo's Terms of Service name self-referral as grounds for suspending an account.
- Do not trust a site promising 25%, 50% or 100% off. fomo documents one discount, 10% off the fee. The rest are covered in fomo scams.
- Do not share your private key or seed with anyone offering to "fix" the referral. Real support never needs it.
- Do not delete and recreate the account casually. You would be starting over with funds in motion; ask support first.

For the referrer, fomo says Solana rewards pay immediately, while EVM networks are batched, typically once or twice a day. That timing is about the referrer’s 25% share, not about your own discount, which applies to every eligible trade.
